MaryAnn Kempe - Chief Human Resources Officer
MaryAnn Kempe holds a Master of Business Administration and Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba, Diplomas and Certificates in Health and Safety, Adult Education and Teaching and Human Resource Management/Labour Relations from Confederation College in Thunder Bay Ontario. MaryAnn is a Certified Mediator and is a Fellow Certified Human Resources Professional (FCHRP). Ms. Kempe joined the Birchwood Automotive Group in 2015 and currently holds the position of Chief Human Resources Officer.
In addition to her responsibilities as part of the Birchwood Executive Leadership Team, Ms. Kempe is the Employee Campaign Chair for the annual United Way campaign for Birchwood. She also participates on various community boards and committees, including the United Way Cabinet and has been a key note speaker at many local and national conferences.
Craig Goldstein - Manager, Recruitment Services
Craig Goldstein is a graduate from the University of Winnipeg and completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Sociology. After University, Craig joined Enterprise Rent-A-Car where he was promoted to the role of Area Manager and eventually came to be the Group Recruiting Manager. Most recently, Craig was the Recruiting Manager for TransX Group of Companies. Craig's experience in the retail sector will be a valuable asset in recruitment and selection at the Birchwood Automotive Group.
In his time away from Birchwood, Craig enjoys playing volleyball, golfing, and coaching his son in baseball.
Sarah Giesbrecht - Manager, Human Resource Services
Sarah Giesbrecht joined the Birchwood Automotive Group as Manager, Human Resource Services. Sarah holds degrees in Geography and Business Administration, is a candidate for Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) and holds a yellow belt in lean manufacturing. Sarah's professional experience includes HR Manager for Rondex and HR Administrator for JRS Manufacturing where she implemented and led their HR practices and provided an employee-oriented, high performance culture. Sarah was also an HR & Recruitment Consultant for Painchaud Performance Group where she provided Recruiting and HR Support to several small/medium sized companies in the Manufacturing, IT and Agricultural Industries. Sarah worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Winnipeg where she wrote and compiled extensive literature reviews and co-authored several papers; one which was published in The International Journal of Business and Economics.
Outside of Birchwood, Sarah enjoys living an active lifestyle and you will likely see her at the gym, attending a yoga class or on her road bike.
Sarah Shrutwa - Human Resource Administrator
Sarah Shrutwa has been with the Birchwood Automotive Group for 7 years, most of which has been spent working as a Sales Administrator for Birchwood Honda on Regent. Sarah received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba majoring in Psychology. Beginning fall 2016, Sarah will be working towards her Human Resource Management Diploma at the University of Winnipeg.
Outside of Birchwood, Sarah spends most of her time with her family and friends, watching movies, and playing the piano, flute and more recently the guitar.
Lauren Gerber - Human Resource Generalist
Lauren is a graduate from the University of Manitoba's Asper School of Business and completed her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), majoring in Finance and Human Resources. While in university, she was actively involved in the University of Manitoba Human Resources Association. In her last year of university, Lauren completed an HR summer internship at CG Power Systems assisting with the implementation of an HRIS. After university, she joined Congebec Inc., gaining experience in recruitment, benefits, employee relations, training and safety. Lauren joined the Birchwood Automotive Group in 2017 as a Human Resource Generalist. Her responsibilities include compensation and benefits, HR metrics and employee wellness.
Outside of Birchwood, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family and friends, crafting and attending various fitness classes. Also, she participates on the Osborne Village Resource Centre board of directors.
Mirna Torres - Recruitment Advisor
Mirna Torres has been working in Human Resources for 8 years with areas of expertise in Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, Training and Development and Performance Management. Her recruitment experience ranges from non-profit to for-profit organizations, agency recruiting, small and large businesses as well as local and national recruitment. With experience ranging from entry level to executive level searches, she is successful in acquiring talent for diverse roles. In previous roles Mirna has acted as a Human Resources Consultant and a Human Resources Coordinator. Mirna plans to attain her CPHR in the near future.
Originally from El Salvador, Mirna is a proud Winnipegger!
Outside of Birchwood, Mirna is busy raising her two daughters and keeping up with her young family. She enjoys trying out new workouts and is obsessed with indoor cycling!
Mariana Sferelli - Recruitment Advisor
Mariana Sferelli holds a Bachelor degree in Psychology and a Human Resources Diploma from Brazil. She has over 8 years of experience working with Recruitment and Human Resources, sourcing for talents in fields such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering and Finance.
While in Brazil, Mariana acted as Recruiter for recruitment agencies, national and multinational companies in industries such as Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Finance, Automotive and Technology, ranging from entry level up to executive roles.Mariana plans to continue her education in pursuing a Diploma in Human Resources and a CHRP nomination.
Originally from Brazil, she is still getting to know Winnipeg and enjoys spending her time with her husband, friends and her dog.
Trevor Lubinski - Learning & Development Specialist
Trevor holds a Bachelor of Arts Advanced Degree in Psychology from the University of Manitoba. Trevor is currently enrolled in the Human Resources Management Program at the University of Manitoba. Following his graduation in 2014, Trevor joined the Birchwood Automotive Group as a Sales Consultant with Birchwood Hyundai. Trevor was Birchwood Hyundai's sales leader during his 4th month on the sales floor. Trevor's diverse background of education and his devotion to Birchwood's values, culture, and vision assist him in everyday recruiting activities.
Outside of work, Trevor enjoys the outdoors, sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Tracy Lamoureux - Learning & Development Specialist
Tracy Lamoureux joined Birchwood as a Learning and Training Specialist. Tracy facilitates Covey, SDI team development workshops, and additionally is responsible for building Birchwood's leadership programs. Tracy holds designations as a Professional Manager (P.Mgr.), Certificate in Management (C.I.M.), Certificate in Management and Administration (CIMA), Certificate in Supervisory Management (CSM) and a Certificate in Project Management Fundamentals. Prior to Birchwood, Tracy held the role of Partnership Development Manager, with the United Way of Winnipeg. Prior to this role, she held various roles with Canadian Blood Services - leading and managing large teams, facilitating customer service and team development programs. Tracy has presented at local and international conferences.
Outside of Birchwood, Tracy and her husband are involved in their kids' lives and are usually found at a hockey rink or community club. Tracy believes "Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart." ~Elizabeth Andrew
Graham Cox - Sales Trainer
Graham has over 40 years' experience in the Automotive Business, having held various positions such as General Manager, General Sales Manager, Sales Manager, and Service Manager. He holds various certificates in all aspects relating to the Automotive Business including a City and Guilds certificate for Auto Technicians which he received in London, England. Graham has worked in various parts of Canada, including British Columbia and Alberta. He and his family moved to Winnipeg in 1989 and he has worked for the Birchwood Automotive Group since that time. Graham has been recruited by different Auto Dealerships throughout Canada and as far away as New Zealand to conduct sales training while working for the Birchwood Automotive Group. His responsibilities at present for Birchwood include new hire sales training, Sales Consultant training and Service Consultant training.
Outside of Birchwood, Graham enjoys golfing, travelling, spending time with his family and a nice glass of wine.
